Der Job Satisfaction Survey (JSS) erfasst mit 36 Items die Arbeitszufriedenheit mit den neun Facetten Pay, Promotion, Supervision, Fringe Benefits, Contingent rewards, Operating conditions, Coworkers, Nature of work und Communication. Die Antworten werden auf einer sechsstufigen Skala von „stimme überhaupt nicht zu“ bis „stimme vollkommen zu“ gegeben.
Die Subskalen weisen mittelmäßige bis gute innere Konsistenzen zwischen .60 und .82 auf. Für das Verfahren liegen außerdem berufsgruppenspezifische Normen vor, deren Aktualität aber nicht überprüfbar ist. Der JSS ist in 18 Sprachen (aber nicht auf deutsch) verfügbar.
